What is a gTLD?

gTLD is short for generic top-level domain. This subcategory encompasses the most widely used domain extensions on the internet such as .com; .net; .org. When first introduced, it featured only a small fraction of the options available today. Nowadays, the gTLD category has grown significantly and encompasses over 1200 unique extensions. It includes such domains as .africa; .name; .online and many more, which are also available in the domain checker.
